Visiting KWC Franklin Dental
What brings people through the door varies. Some want a reliable place for regular cleanings. Some have a cracked tooth or a filling that has fallen out. Some have been missing teeth for a while and want to talk about implants or dentures. Our approach is the same either way: we listen first, explain what we see in plain language, and let you decide how to proceed.

What we treat
KWC Dental provides a broad range of general, restorative and surgical dentistry. When you book, ask which treatments are available at Franklin. The guides below explain the treatments people ask about most.
Treatments people ask about most
- Dental implants. An implant replaces the root of a missing tooth and supports a crown, a bridge or a denture. Planning usually starts with an assessment of your bone and gums, and bone grafting or a sinus lift may be part of the plan. Read more in our dental implants guide.
- Emergency dental care. Sudden pain, swelling, a chipped or knocked loose tooth. Phone 519-624-8880 and the team will help you work out the next step. Same day emergency appointments are offered when available. See emergency dentistry.
- Wisdom teeth removal. Wisdom teeth usually arrive between 17 and 25 and can become impacted, infected or hard to clean. A panoramic x ray shows where they sit and whether they need to come out. More in our wisdom teeth removal guide.
- Sedation dentistry. If dental anxiety has kept you away, or you need a longer surgical visit, sedation options, including oral sedation and nitrous oxide, are available. Ask which is suitable for you. Background in our oral surgery and sedation guide.
Other care
- Dentures and partials. Full dentures, partial dentures and implant retained dentures are covered in prosthetic dentistry.
- Routine checkups. Exams, x rays, fillings, root canal treatment and gum care, all explained in general dentistry.
- Hygiene visits. Cleanings and scaling with our hygienists, see cleanings and hygiene.
- Crowns and bridges. Repairing or rebuilding damaged teeth, see cosmetic and restorative dentistry.
- Sleep apnea appliances. For patients with a sleep apnea assessment, see sleep apnea.
Treatment fees follow the Ontario dental fee guide.
Meet the KWC Dental dentists
Four dentists practise with KWC Dental. We have not listed a fixed schedule here because it can change. When you call, ask which dentist is booking at Franklin.
Dr. Samuel Samra, D.D.S., or Dr. Sam, is someone the practice describes as creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere for patients.
Dr. Ayman Samra, D.D.S. has an interest in implant dentistry, prosthetics, endodontics and oral surgery.
Dr. Azehar Raouf, D.D.S. joined KWC Dental as an associate in 2014 and has practised dentistry in Canada and internationally. Restorative work, children’s dentistry, prosthetic dentistry and oral surgery are her main interests.
Dr. Aliki Divaris, D.D.S.
Alongside the dentists, the hygiene team carries out cleanings and checks for early signs of gum disease, and spends time showing patients how to look after their teeth at home.
Joining the practice as a new patient
What a first visit looks like
For most new patients we suggest a New Patient Exam, which takes around 90 minutes. During that time a hygienist cleans and polishes your teeth, any x rays you need are taken, and a dentist examines your mouth, explains the diagnosis and walks you through your options.
Plan to get here 15 minutes before your appointment so there is time to complete the paperwork. It helps if you bring:
- recent dental x rays from the past six months, emailed to us in electronic form
- your insurance details
- the names of any medications you take
- IFHP documents, for refugees covered by the Interim Federal Health Program
Insurance and the Canadian Dental Care Plan
- We accept CDCP, the Canadian Dental Care Plan.
- We accept all private insurance plans, and we are happy to bill your insurance provider directly on your behalf.
- Patients are ultimately responsible for understanding their coverage before beginning treatment, but we can assist by submitting estimates and direct billing when available.
- Dentalcard gives you a payment plan option for any of our treatments.
Students
If you are a student and have not opted out of your school’s dental insurance plan, you are most likely eligible for coverage. Our Financing Options page lists what the University of Waterloo, Wilfrid Laurier University and Conestoga College plans include.
